Automatic watches run without a battery and are wound automatically by the wearer's arm movement after the first winding. When our automatic watches are fully wound, they run for an average of approx. 48 hours, even when not in motion. If the watch is not worn for a longer period of time, it must first be wound again (30 - 50 turns of the crown clockwise). LOUIS XVI watches are tested for water resistance up to 5 bar, which corresponds to the pressure of an assumed water column of 50 meters. This makes it suitable for everyday use, such as bathing, showering or washing hands.

The water resistance of a watch can deteriorate over time, for example as a result of ageing seals or accidental knocks against one of the components responsible for water resistance, such as the crown, pushers or watch glass. We recommend that you have the water resistance of your watch checked once a year.

All LOUIS XVI watches are made from 316L stainless steel, which is also used in the manufacture of surgical instruments and is extremely durable and never rusts.

This extremely high-quality 316L stainless steel also contains a small amount of nickel. However, the 316L stainless steel alloy limits the release of nickel. The nickel particles are trapped in the alloy and therefore remain firmly bound to the other components.

The fact that nickel is not released makes 316L stainless steel an anti-allergenic metal that does not irritate the skin. This means that watches made from 316L stainless steel can even be worn by people with a nickel allergy.

Yes, an exchange is generally possible within 14 days.

The watch must be unworn and in new condition. The strap must not have been shortened, no protective film may have been removed, and the 14-day return period must not have been exceeded.
